2023 VFW Handbook

The following paragraph was added to the VFW national handbook sometime after COVID-19 shut down the country:

It describes what a hybrid meeting is all about!

“Any of the above stated meetings [regular, special, committee] may be conducted or attended electronically that allows [the] participating members to communicate with each other simultaneously.

(emphasis mine)

Online and in-room participants can hear each other, and talk to each other. Online participants who have their cameras turned on can be seen, too.

Leadership still has to control the meeting by calling on audience members to speak. One neat feature is that the Zoom “raise hand” feature tracks the order in which someone online raises their hand!
